If you live anywhere in San Benito County, you have a $8.5 million budget shortage consisting of a $3.5 million deficit in Hollister and a $5.0 million county deficit - like it or not, both will affect everyone - we’re joined at the hip.

The County Board of Supervisors will decide at their next meeting whether or not to cut a whopping two-tenths of 1 percent of the budget and axe the 4-H program. Once again, as the youth of our county are looking for "something to do," the board is ready to say "Join a gang, sit on the street corner, tag a wall or fence." Don't let them cut this needed program of our children. Call them or be at the meeting next Tuesday.
