Guest View: Doubts on tax idea
Recently I was sent a flyer asking how I felt about giving away more money because someone figured out I just have too much. Of course it was in the form of a tax. This tax would be used to fix potholes, improve safety, make Highway 25 better, make other roads better, move money around, pay for unfunded liabilities, who knows.
Letter: We can do a lot more
There are two topics I read about in the May 1 paper. One is by Dr. Anju Goel. And she mentioned that San Benito County is one of the counties with the most chlamydia in the state of California. This is horrible. We need to help the people, and educate them. They need somewhere to turn to and get the help they need to reach out to these kids and adults and teach them. You can put this in the paper, but are they going to treat the people and help them? Kids are at risk of getting this. Are they reaching out to the schools? Is something going to be done? They should do something about this, before they put it in the paper. Public safety means a lot to me. There are a lot of problems going on; I bet there are more problems than this.

Ferguson, CEO of ACT.
