Creative Friends Quilt Shop and Timber & Textiles in Hollister are part of the “Shop Hop by the Bay,” a tour of quilts by local quilting artists Janet Locey, Debra Hartman, Gail Belmont, Kay and Dana Mackenzie.

A wall of quilts with a variety of themes are on display throughout the region. With tell-tale themes like “Look what my goldfish ate” and “Where’s Rudolph,” each quilt tells a story in detailed design.

The event is a collaboration of 16 quilt stores and the San Jose Quilt Museum with prizes and demonstrations being offered including a one-week quilt retreat at Asilomar and two $800 shopping sprees.

Quilts will be on display until the end of the month, but, to be eligible for prizes, people have only four days in which to shop.

All shops will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 26, 27 and 28. On Sunday, June 29, quilts will be on display from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A map with all the shops and museum are available at each shop and, to win prizes, visitors should pick up a Shop Hop passport and have it stamped at each shop and the museum. Once the passport is completed, it must be turned in at the last shop visited.
