Johnson graduates from basic training
Army National Guard Pvt. Everett L. Johnson has graduated from
Basic Combat Training at Fort Knox, Ky.
During the nine-week training period, the trainee received
instruction in drill and ceremony, weapons, rifle marksmanship and
bayonet training, chemical warfare, field training and tactical
exercises, armed and unarmed combat, military courtesy, military
justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, traditions,
and core values.
Johnson is the son of Edward L. and Diane J. Johnson of
Cloverlawn Drive, Grants Pass, Ore.
His wife, Marie, is the daughter of Bill and Paris Parker of
Cienega Road, Hollister.

Medeiros makes Dean’s list
Kevin Medeiros, a junior pre-med major, was named to the Dean’s List at California State University, Monterey Bay for the fall semester. The Dean’s List recognizes students who have achieved a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 for a course load of at least 12 credits.
Kevin, son of Luciano and Joyce Medeiros of Hollister, is a 2007 graduate of San Benito High School.
