Local SPU students graduate
Two local students have graduated from Seattle Pacific
University. They include Catherine Anne Dominguez, who graduated
with a bachelor of arts in English, literature emphasis; and Sarah
Marie Gesek, who graduated with a bachelor of arts in European
studies – linguistics.

Hollister native named to Dean’s List
Justine Hunter, a sophomore has been named to the Seaver College Dean’s List for spring 2010 at Pepperdine University, in Malibu.
In order to earn Dean’s List honors, students must be in the upper 10 percent of their class and maintain a 3.5 or better grade-point average. This year, Hunter is one of 306 students to receive the honor.
The purpose of the Dean’s List is to provide recognition for the positive academic achievements of students at the Seaver College of Letters, Arts and Sciences and to serve as an additional incentive for academic excellence to all students.
Sylvia M. Martinez graduates from basic
Air Force Airman Sylvia M. Martinez graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
She is the daughter of Leo Martinez of Seventh Street, in Hollister.
Martinez is a 2007 graduate of San Benito High School.
