The annual Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Chi State
Area V Conference was held Oct. 30, at the St. Paul’s Episcopal
Church in Salinas. The theme of the conference was

Soaring Beyond Our Challenges.

In attendance were women educators from the eight chapters of
Delta Kappa Gamma including Delta Lambda from Monterey-Carmel area,
Theta Pi and Theta Omicron from Salinas area, Iota Tau from King
City, Gamma Alpha from Morgan Hill, Zeta Epsilon from
Hollister-Watsonville, Zeta Chi from Watsonville, Aptos, Santa Cruz
area and Theta from Aptos-Santa Cruz area and several members of
the executive board of Chi State (California) including the
president Marilyn Stalder-Burke and several past presidents. The
Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a worldwide organization
of women educators dedicated to promoting the professional and
personal growth of women. The main presentation was titled

Lights, Camera, Action

and after watching movie clips, small groups discussed how they
could distinguish different leadership styles.
