RLS cruises to 67-31 win in MTAL opener
PEBBLE BEACH
Despite a game-high 17 points from Mark Rania, the Anzar High boys basketball team lost its Mission Trail Athletic League opener Wednesday 67-31 to host Stevenson in Pebble Beach.
The Hawks are now 0-1 in the MTAL.
Stevenson’s David Wu and Brian Bhaskr paced the Pirates with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Anzar’s Johnny Doty had six points in the loss, while teammate Jason Merz had six points, eight rebounds and four blocks.
The Hawks will return Friday to host Greenfield at 7 p.m.
