ARRESTS

Obstruction, Washington Avenue

At 1:41 p.m. on Saturday, a 40-year-old Hollister male was arrested for obstruction on the 800 block of Washington Avenue. Officer responded to a suspicious suspect sitting behind a business on the 800 block of Washington Avenue. Upon arrival, the suspect was found smoking out of a methamphetamine pipe. When police went to arrest the suspect, he resisted. He was arrested and booked into the county jail for obstruction, paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Assault with a deadly weapon – not a firearm, Highland Drive

At 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, a 22-year-old Hollister male was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon. Police said the suspect went to visit the victim and went through her phone to see if she was talking to other males and also got into an argument because she had recently opened a Facebook account. He then threw a cell phone at the victim, pushed her several time and kneed her in the face. He pushed her to the ground and choked her until she blacked out. He was arrested and booked into the county jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon – not a firearm, domestic violence, false imprisonment, domestic battery and an outstanding warrant.

CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS

Grand theft, Monta Vista Drive

At 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, a bulldozer was stolen from a construction site on Monta Vista Drive. The bulldozer was found and recovered by the San Benito County Sheriff’s Office. No suspect information was available.

Annoying phone calls, Del Monte Drive

At 8:11 a.m. on Friday, police received a report from a victim of annoying phone calls from the 700 block of Del Monte Drive. Police said that the victim received repeated phone calls to a cell phone overnight and into the morning. No suspect information was available.

Damage power lines, Crescent Lane

At 10:25 p.m. on Thursday, an argument broke out between ex-partners on the 1100 block of Crescent Lane. The victim went to call police and the suspect ripped the phone out of the wall causing a disruption to the phone lines. The case has been referred to the District Attorney’s Office.

Possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, San Juan Drive

At 4:30 p.m. on Friday, a 28-year-old Hollister male was contacted by police on the 1200 block of San Juan Drive in regards to a beer skip. Police said that the vehicle the suspect was standing next to matched the vehicle from the theft. He was searched for identification and police found a used glass methamphetamine pipe. The suspect was cited and released.

Vandalism, Mesa Drive

At 11 p.m. on Saturday, an unknown suspect broke a window in the front of a residence on the 1300 block of Mesa Drive.
