ARRESTS
Under the influence of a controlled substance, Del Rio Drive
At 2:09 a.m. on Wednesday, police received a call from two San Benito High School security guards regarding two female suspects who approached them and appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The guards followed the females down Nash Road and met police near Line Street. The females saw police and began running. Officers caught one of the females, arrested her and booked her into the county jail. At the jail, the 27-year-old Hollister resident gave up a methamphetamine pipe and pills. She was charged with being under the influence, possession of a meth pipe and possession of a controlled substance.
Driving a bicycle under the influence and possession of methamphetamines, San Benito Street
At 10:19 p.m. on June 2, police noticed a 24-year-old male Hollister resident leave Pacheco Liquors on the 700 block of San Benito Street and attempt to get on his bike. Police said that every time he tried to get on his bike, he would fall over. The suspect saw police approaching in their car and got on his bike and slowly rode away, nearly falling over several times. Police decided to stop driving after him and catch up to him on foot. The suspect showed objective signs of intoxication and was arrested and booked into the county jail. At the jail, he was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
CRIMINAL COMPLAINTS
Petty theft, Santa Ana Road
Between 7 a.m. and noon Wednesday, a bike was stolen from Gabilan Hills School on the 900 block of Santa Ana Road. No suspect information was available.
Fighting in a public place, McCray Street
At 3:47 p.m. on June 1, 10 to 12 juveniles were reported throwing water balloons, dispensing opened condiment packets and throwing trash while standing on top of tables inside Jack in the Box on the 300 block of McCray Street. The manager approached the juveniles and told them to stop and leave and the group left after they were told police were on the way. The manager requested prosecution because this was not an isolated incident, and the investigation is still pending.
Battery, Howard Court
At 5:28 p.m. on June 2, a victim visited her husband’s parents house on the 300 block of Howard Court. While at the residence, the victim was approached by a 25-year-old Hollister female, was pushed to the ground, jumped on and repeatedly punched in the face. The family of the husband did not try to stop the fight and the husband ended up pulling the suspect off of his wife. Police couldn’t specify if the suspect was of any relation to the husband. She was cited for battery and released.
Forged check, Tiffany Street
At 1:39 p.m. on Wednesday, police received a report that someone had stolen a check from a victim’s checkbook and cashed the check. The victim isn’t sure where it was stolen from her checkbook and didn’t notice the check stolen until May 29. No suspect information was available.
