Due to uncooperative witnesses, police are looking for help in finding suspects from a gang-related stabbing that occurred earlier this month in Hollister.
Police at 1:36 a.m. Oct. 6 responded to the 1400 block of King Circle for a report of a large fight involving about 30 people in the street.
There were reports of bottles thrown and knives being used by gang members, according to the Hollister Police Department.
When police arrived, the group scattered. In the meantime, a 21-year-old male emerged from one of the houses with a stab wound to the arm.
According to a police statement: “The victim and another witness described a group of gang members walked into the home while they were having a party. The gang members were uninvited and they were asked to leave. Once outside the home, a fight started between the gang members and the party attendees. The victim rushed in to help a friend who was being beaten. One of the gang members then allegedly stabbed him once in the arm.”
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult and about 20 years old. He was described as having a red and black tattoo on the right side of his neck about the size of a small fist, according to police. The tattoo was possibly a Cincinnati Reds “C” logo or red lips.
Police noted they have not received cooperation from those involved in the party. They are now asking if anyone has information or knows the names of those involved to please call the police department.
Anyone with information regarding the fight or the suspect in the stabbing is asked to call Officer Bo Leland at (831) 636-4331. People wishing to remain anonymous may call WeTIP at (800) 78-CRIME. Information provided to WeTip may result in an award of up to $1,000.
