The San Benito County Board of Supervisors is set to consider the probation department’s request to apply for federal stimulus funds from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The meeting is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday at the County Administration Building, 481 Fourth St.

Assistant County Administrative Officer Rich Inman said the money would go toward the hiring of probation officers. The amount of money and potential number of officers is undetermined at this point.

The county already has been awarded $900,000 in funding from the ARRA that went to the health and human services department to fund job creation and training.

Also on the agenda:

The board will consider whether to amend the county’s conflict of interest code to include the Community Action Board members. Inman said periodically there needs to be a review of people on boards and commissions to see if there are any conflicts of interest surrounding financial matters.

The item would ensure Community Action Board members would have to fill out the Form 700 – the Statement of Economic Interests – to see if there are any conflicts.
