A whole mess of garbage has found a friend along the Hwy. 25 bypass near the intersection with Tres Pinos Road.

But since the fence is not on city or county property, a cleanup of the site must be requested from the owner, a county public works official said.

The fence near the Chevron gas station has become a catching point for all kinds of plastic bags, cardboard and other trash. The Pinnacle phoned county public works official Arman Nazemi, who explained that the property in question was privately owned. The county or city normally would clean up the situation if the property is publicly owned, he said, noting how crews do not have the right to go on the property and do the job without communicating with the owner. Nazemi said now that the county is aware, “We’re going to go ahead and contact the property owners and request for a cleanup.” He plans to contact the building and planning division and examine what precedent has been set for forcing such cleanups.
