Hollister officials are moving ahead on a painting project for three buildings at the Hollister Municipal Airport. The city council at its latest meeting approved spending $60,453 on plans to paint airport buildings Nos. 19-21.

The council’s move came after the city received 14 bids for the work, ranging from the lowest bid from U.S. National Corps, the $60,453 amount, to the highest bid of $146,208, according to a city staff report. With an additional contingency fund of $15,000, the project is budgeted at $75,463. The council in its 2010-11 budget had allocated funds from the airport operations budget for the work.

U.S. National Corps is based in Panorama, Calif. Some of the work aside from the painting is set to include cleaning, sanding, re-nailing, and work on panels and doors.
