City paints over graffiti at Dunne Park
The handball court at the Dunne Park has received a fresh coat of green paint to cover some graffiti plastered across the top half a few weeks ago.
City of Hollister’s parks division – it has a graffiti abatement program – promptly took care of the vandalism after being notified by the Pinnacle by giving the board the coat of paint.
By the looks of the section in the photo taken after the graffiti was discovered, it appears as though the worn surface could’ve used a once over even without the vandalism prompting the work.
“If we see things, like on sound walls or utility boxes, or in the parks or public buildings, we try to respond to those as soon as we are aware of them,” Community Services Director Clay Lee has noted in regards to the graffiti.
The police department runs a volunteer program for graffiti abatement for which it organizes weekend clean-up sessions in the city.
