Pothole near courthouse still there
It’s any car mechanic’s best friend, the pothole, and it’s every
car driver’s biggest nightmare.
And there’s a rather jagged nightmare for cars remaining on
Monterey Street near the courthouse that city street crews haven’t
viewed as a big priority in the five weeks since The Pinnacle first
asked when it would be fixed.

It’s any car mechanic’s best friend, the pothole, and it’s every car driver’s biggest nightmare.
And there’s a rather jagged nightmare for cars remaining on Monterey Street near the courthouse that city street crews haven’t viewed as a big priority in the five weeks since The Pinnacle first asked when it would be fixed.
That pothole undoubtedly has given continual headaches for drivers on the relatively busy side street near many of the city’s government centers.
It also serves as a danger zone because drivers might be prone to swerve away from the pothole when they see it.
City Streets Supervisor Ray Rojas, though, said he had told the crews – who go out on Fridays doing such routine road maintenance – about the courthouse’s unfriendly neighbor when informed by the newspaper in late May.
He also noted how the department had a couple of painting projects that had kept workers busy.
“I’ll make sure that’s taken care of,” he said this week.
Let’s hope they get it done soon this time. Rojas in late May said he had expected crews might get to it by the end of that week, which would have been May 29.
