Weeds infest city parking lot in downtown Hollister
There are weeds that are continuing to grow in the city’s public
parking lot off Sixth Street near downtown, and some of them are
getting to be nearly as tall as some shorter people.
At the front of many of the parking stalls in the lot, near
Hollister City Hall, the weeds have grown upward along the side of
the buildings on each side. There also are many patches of weeds
throughout the same parking lot, while city public works officials
have been informed of the problem.

Incidentally, Hollister around this time of year conducts its citywide survey of lots infested with weeds. The city sends notices to properties needing abatement and, if they don’t cut them, the city hires someone to do the work and bills residents.
City crews do regularly look for weed-infested areas, such as those along San Felipe Road, Meridian Road and Prospect Avenue.
