An all-teen cast is bringing the tale of Kim McAfee to the stage, a love struck teen who has a chance to receive one last kiss from rock and roll idol Conrad Birdie on the Ed Sullivan Show before he goes off to war in the San Benito Stage Company’s production of “Bye Bye Birdie.”

Kim has to deal with annoyed parents, a jealous boyfriend and Birdie’s agent. The stars of the show include Harrison Yager, Ryan Grow, Amanda Frey, Ryan Hatcher, Valerie Nicolaysen, Nany Perales and others.

The show is directed by Mary Casillas and produced by Jesse Huerta, with vocal direction by Sally Hail and choreography by Stephanie Hicks.

The San Benito Stage Company is opening their performance of the musical romantic comedy, “Bye Bye Birdie,” this Friday, May 4 at 7 p.m. at the Granada Theater in Hollister. Additional performances will be May 5, 11 and 12 at 7 p.m. and May 6 and 13 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for senior citizens and children 12 years and under. Tickets can be purchased at www.sanbenitostage.org or at the box office.
