SBHS offering Back to School Night
San Benito High School hosting its annual Back To School Night on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006. Parents can meet their students’ teachers and tour the campus.
Parents are encouraged to attend the Student Support Team meetings at 6:15 p.m. to meet the Assistant Principal, Counselors, Guidance Technicians and Support Managers assigned to assist their students throughout their high school years. The students are assigned to the teams alphabetically by their last names:
-A-Ga will meet with Krystal Lomanto in the Mattson Gym.
-Ge-O will meet with Duane Morgan in the Cafeteria.
-P-Z will meet with Linda Row in the Auditorium.
From 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. there will be classroom presentations to review course expectations, grading and attendance policies. These short presentations are scheduled at 6:45, 7:15 and 7:45 p.m. During these classroom presentations, parents can also make private appointments (for a specific future date and time) to speak to the teachers about individual students.
Student schedules will not be handed out this year, so parents should request a list of teachers and classrooms from their student, or use the on-line information resource, “In Touch” on the school’s Web page. (Parents need to register and show a photo ID before being issued a password for the “In Touch” program.)
The Scarlet Regiment Band, Color Guard, and Choir will be on hand to provide entertainment, and members of the Spirit Squad and the Student Council will serve as guides.
There will be a special session for Spanish-speaking parents in room 223 starting at 6:15 p.m.
Parking lots will be open.
