Fort Benito, the annual San Benito Cub Scout Day Camp, opened for the week on Monday and will close down its 25th anniversary with a ceremony Friday evening.

More than 100 Scouts from all over the area particpated in the week-long event. The camp opened on Monday with a Wild West Show that featured a rodeo clown in the arena. From there, the kids participated in a variety of other activities, including challenges such as washing clothes the old-fashioned way, a bean bag toss and panning for gold.

On Friday as the camp closes for the year, and the Scouts will retire 25 flags to commemorate the camp’s 25th anniversary.
