Yvonne St. Pierre of Gilroy, daughter of Florence St. Pierre, and Antonio Garcia of Gilroy, son of Ignacio and Yolanda Garcia, have announced their engagement.

Yvonne is employed at Allergy and Asthma Associates of Northern California.

The couple plan the marry Dec. 29, 2007 at the Foothills Foursquare Church, with a reception at Ridgemark in Hollister.

Maleeya Love Carrillo was born Oct. 15, 2007 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Anna Haro and Bobby Carrillo of Gilroy. She weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces.

Adriel Manzo

Adriel Manzo was born Oct. 21, 2007 at Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital in Hollister to parents Margarita and Alejandro Manzo of Hollister. He weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces.

Brandon Alex Orozco

Brandon Alex Orozco was born Oct. 19, 2007 at Saint Louise Regional Hospital in Gilroy to parents Randa Hanna Awad and Alex Orozco of Gilroy. He weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces.

Val Jeffery

The Alliance for Community Media, 2007 Western Region’s Western Access Video Excellence (W.A.V.E) awards took place Oct. 26 in Ventura.

Val Jeffery, a resident of Gilroy, was the Community Producer winner in the ‘Talk Show – Entertainment’ category for her program “Necklace – The Birth of a Musical.” The program featured Tony Vandersteen who wrote the music and lyrics for “Neckace” and Dale Porter who wrote the book.

The program, which was also hosted and edited by Val, included clips from the theater production and featured Tony playing arrangements from “Necklace” on a piano in the studio.

Val is on the Board of Directors for CMAP and was recently elected as Chairman of the Board.

Nicole Silveira

Nicole Silveira received the American Degree at the 80th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. recently. The American Degree is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization and recognizes Nicole’s demonstrated leadership abilities and outstanding achievements in agricultural business, production, processing and service programs. To be eligible, members must earned and invested $7,500 through a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program.

Nicole is the daughter of Joe and Alda Silveira and is currently attending Modesto Junior College with plans to transfer to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She is a member of the Hollister FFA Chapter and her agricultural education instructor and FFA advisors are Kelly Bianci and Renee Reed.

Nicole received a gold American Degree key and certificate in a blue leatherette frame to commemorate the achievement, one of only 3,168 to be recognized in 2007.
