Jennifer Lynn Crossen of Morgan Hill, CA and Mario Ray Martinez of San Diego, CA are proud to announce their engagement to be married.
The bride is the daughter of James & Lissa Crossen, both of Morgan Hill. The future bridegroom is the son of Art and Maria de la Luz Martinez of San Diego.
In 2003, an introduction by longtime friend and fellow Live Oak Alumni Kim Stadler Jackson “kicked-off” their romance. The happy couple is looking forward to joining with friends and family to celebrate their wedding day on September 29, 2007 at St. Catherine’s Church, Morgan Hill.
Jennifer, a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, is actively pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work at San Diego State University. Mario, a graduate of California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo, is currently employed as a Civil Engineer with F.C.I.
Once wed, the couple will reside in a home they are currently restoring in San Diego, CA. According to Jennifer’s parents, Matron-of-Honor (Jenny Rosa Maka), friends and family; the newly weds will be making FREQUENT visits to Morgan Hill.

HONORS
Trixy Wortham Turns 100
Trixy Wortham celebrated her 100th birthday on June 8. Born June 8, 1907, in Tillamook City, Ore., she attended Pacific University in Forest Grove. Two years later she transferred to the University of Oregon, where she received a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history. She spent the next 25 years teaching history to high school students in Morgan Hill.
She shared her life with her husband Jim for 56 years. After retiring they both enjoyed traveling, with frequent trips to the Orient. The bought property on Floras Lake where they lived for the next 20 years.
For the past three years, Trixy has shared her love of movies, reading, the Shakespeare theater and travel with her fellow Anna Maria Creekside residents. She attributes her longevity to her pioneer stock. Her grandparents were Oregon pioneers who helped settle the Tillamook area.
Kyle Warren
Kyle Warren, of Gilroy, has been named to the President’s Honors List for 2006-2007 at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. The President’s Honors List is compiled at the end of each spring quarter to honor those undergraduate students who have demonstrated consistent academic achievement as represented by being named to the Dean’s Honors List for any three of the four quarters of any year (July to June). You must have completed 12 or more units during the quarter with a grade point average which places you in the top 15 percent of the students in your college to have your name appear on the Dean’s Honors List.
Kyle is a 2004 graduate of Gilroy High School and the son of Rob and Karen Warren of Gilroy.
Juan Reyes
Army Pvt. Juan M. Reyes has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
He is the son of Fidel Salmeron of Hollister and a 2007 graduate of San Andreas High School.
Juliette Bowers
Juliette Bowers has been named to the Dean’s List at Canisius College in New York for the Spring ’07 semester. Bowers, of Morgan Hill, is a junior psychology major.

Freshman Kyle Mosbrucker, of Morgan Hill, has been named to the Dean’s List at Linfield College in McMinville, Ore. In order to be named to the Dean’s List, students must complete 12 graded credits and be in the top 10 percent of their class.
