Osorio-Allivato

Dennis and Peggy Osorio of Hollister announce the engagement of their daughter, Desiree Suzette Osorio to James Michael Allivato, son of James and Linda Allivato of Morgan Hill.

The bride is currently a pre-school teacher. She graduated from school in Hollister with the class of 2000. The groom is currently an HVAC contractor. He graduated from school in Morgan Hill with the class of 1998.

The couple were engaged in October 2004 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They plan to marry on Aug. 6.

Weddings

Rubida-Taylor

Danielle Rubida, 36, and Mickey Taylor, 41, were married in Maui on Oct. 8. The bride is a 1986 graduate of Gilroy High School and has an AS in Fire Science from Fresno City College. She is a fire captain for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection in Fresno County. Danielle is the daughter of Diane and Dennis Rubida of Gilroy. The groom is a 1981 graduate of Thousand Oaks High School in Thousand Oaks, Calif. He is a fire captain for Fresno City. He is the son of Luz and Ronnie Taylor of Clovis, Calif. The couple met three years ago at a structure fire in Fresno County.

The late afternoon wedding ceremony took place in a garden overlooking the ocean. The maid of honor was Karey Wedemeyer, longtime friend of the bride, and the best man was Tony Taylor, brother of the groom. Tess Brown, daughter of Denise Brown, the bride’s sister, performed the duties of flower girl. The bride and groom were surrounded by family and friends. A reception followed the ceremony and included a traditional island feast at the Old Lahaina Luau followed by a history of the island in music and dance.

The couple continued their honeymoon golfing at many of the beautiful courses on Maui and the island of Lanai.

Yafai-Donati

Kim Yafai of Gilroy and Lou Donati of Concord, Calif. were married on June 12 at Edgewood, Lake Tahoe.

Kim is the daughter of Bob and Debbie Reynolds of Glenbrook, Nev., and Ed and Ellie Yafai of San Jose. After attending Gilroy High School, she graduated from San Jose State University with a degree in Theater Arts. The former Miss Gilroy Garlic Queen and Miss Gavilan Hills studied at the American Conservatory Theater, and pursued her acting career in Hollywood. She now enjoys singing with the Walnut Creek Gospel choir and is employed as a sales representative in the medical industry.

Lou is the son of Lou and Diane Donati of Concord and is a De La Salle alumnus, where he played football. He graduated from Santa Clara University, where he received a baseball scholarship. He is employed in the pharmaceutical industry and volunteers his time with the Big Brother/Big Sisters Organization as a big brother.

The couple honeymooned in Italy, where Lou’s family is from, and reside in Martinez, Calif. They enjoy volunteering, practicing their golf swings and spending time at the dog park with their two dogs.

Ehrich-Payne

Andrea Michelle Ehrich of Gilroy and Daniel Win Payne of San Jose were married Nov. 5.

Andrea is the daughter of Martin and Jeanette Ehrich of Gilroy; granddaughter of Marie and the late Michael Pirozzoli of Gilroy and Inez and the late William Ehrich of Hollister. She graduated from Gilroy High School in 1994. She graduated from the Cabrillo College Dental Hygiene Program in Aptos in 1999. She currently works for two local dentists.

Daniel is the son of Jackie and the late David Payne of San Jose; grandson of the late Dr. J. Win Payne of Napa and the late Lois Cross of San Jose. He graduated from Del Mar High School in San Jose in 1992. He then earned an AA degree from Mission College in Santa Clara. He currently works as a sales representative for Léal Vineyards in Hollister.

The matron of honor was Joy Caginia. The maid of honor was Allison Ramsey. Bridesmaids were Kathleen Hafely and Becky Casas.

The best man was Chris Gonzales. Groomsmen were Anthony Machado and Marc Gonzales. The bride’s brother Chad Ehrich was an usher and the groom’s sister Janell Payne read a poem during the ceremony. The couple, who met through mutual friends, spent their honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica. They now live in Gilroy, where they recently bought a home.
