HONOR
Tom Borns
On Jan. 25, 2011, the Grand Canyon Council of the Boy Scouts of America conferred upon Tom Borns the rank of Eagle Scout. Tom is a member of Boy Scout Troop 7 sponsored by Bethany Community Church in Tempe, Ariz. He is a senior at Seton Catholic Preparatory High School in Chandler, where he is actively involved in the Seton Ambassador program and sports, in particular, varsity football.
Tom’s Eagle Scout project was the complete installation of a 30 foot tall flagpole at the Seton Catholic Preparatory football field. His project was completed with the help of 30 volunteers that gave a total of 180 hours of service; Seton now routinely uses the new flagpole installation for soccer, football and track events at the school.
Tom is the grandson of Mary Dean Borns of San Martin.
