Stephanie, daughter of James Oerman of Hollister and Delores Azevedo of Payson, Ariz., earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Sonoma State University and works as a transaction coordinator at Coldwell Banker in Davis.
Joseph, son of Thomas and Molly Snyder of Davis, earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from San Francisco State University and works in the gas department for PG&E.
The couple plans to marry Aug. 2, 2014 at Taber Ranch in Capay.

Cherise Mantia, of Gilroy, was recently initiated into Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Mantia was initiated at San Jose State University.

Aviation Ordnanceman 2nd Class Herman Valderrama, a Hollister native assigned to the “Sidewinders” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 86, cleans the turret of an M61-82 gun in the hangar bay of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan is participating in Rim of the Pacific Exercise 2014. Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and six submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating from June 26 to Aug. 1, in and around the Hawaiian Islands. RIMPAC 2014 is the 24th exercise in the series that began in 1971.
