Died peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a year-long battle with lung cancer. Shirley was born in Buffalo, NY where she met her only love George who preceded her in death. Together they left New York and traveled to California where they raised three children – Catherine Sorci (husband Joseph) Mark Peachey (wife Donna) and Beth Newquist (husband Erik). Shirley’s passion was her grandchildren, Megan, Gregory, Christina and Michael Sorci and Cameron, Jacob and Emma Peachey, Luke and Molly Newquist. Shirley’s love for her family extended to her many nieces and nephews throughout the country and to her “adopted” sisters Anna and Mary Esther Candee. She was a devoted friend to everyone she met and “Grandma Shirley” to every child.
Memorial Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 27 at St. Catherine’s Church, Morgan Hill, CA., followed by a Celebration of Life in the Parish Hall.
