alling for rain in the South County forecast
Happy November, everyone. The holiday season is officially under
way now. Only 54 more shopping days until Christmas! It sure
doesn’t seem like November in South County, the weather has been in
the ’80s the past few days. I don’t want to start whining about
rain already, but the green grass has already started so the rain
must keep on coming now!

Congratulations go out to Tracie (Eade) and Mike Eggleston on the birth of their new baby girl, Molly, who was born last week. Molly joins big brother Tel and three other big sisters, Megan, Meryl and Marlie.

I am so glad Election Day has come and gone. I am so tired of watching so many political commercials. I am just a regular person who exercises my right to vote and all the political commercials are a complete turn off to me. I get so sick of them. It almost makes me NOT want to vote, even though I would never give up that right. I wonder how many votes those commercials actually pick up anyway. People who actually take their right to vote seriously are going to do their own research and vote based on their own values anyway. The ones who only vote based on what they listen to on the smear commercials and smear ads probably shouldn’t be voting anyway. My vote for the next election is to eliminate all TV and print ads to make the voters educate themselves on the issues and the candidates, then truly decide for themselves based on their own education and research who they want in office.

South County kids were busy last weekend at a couple different high school rodeos. My kids spent Saturday down in Santa Ynez for a District 7 rodeo along with Cheyenne Rey, Taylor and Twyster Hurley and Wacey Barrington. The kids all did great in their respective events. District 4 kids all headed over to Riverdale for a long weekend of rodeo with District 6. Congrats to Cash Robinson on covering his first bull back after being off for a few months with his ankle injury. A few other kids participating in Riverdale included Megan Ford, Blane and Blaire Strohn, Kristy Melton and Wyatt Naccarato, just to name a few. The next rodeo for both districts will be a big multidistrict rodeo down in Paso Robles next weekend.

Many Hollister barrel racers spent the weekend in King City last week as the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds hosted the first of many three-day barrel races. Congratulations to Cynthia Fancher and Colleen Sabin for being the big winners of the averages in their respective divisions. They both did great. They won lots of money and new blankets for their horses. A big thank you to Cynthia for providing the office crew (me and Vicky Sabin) with some delicious Halloween cookies on Sunday.

Congratulations to all the San Francisco Giants fans out there who have been waiting more than 50 years to finally become fans of World Champions! It’s tough being a sports fan and having to flip back and forth between the World Series and football games! It’s even tougher to be a Bronco fan right now! This season is pretty much over for us. We’re just in a “rebuilding” year now. Ha ha!

Have a great week and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at [email protected] with any news you’d like to share.
