Holidays on the way in South County
Happy Holidays, everyone. In case you didn’t realize, Christmas
is only two weeks away! Hopefully you’ve all at least started your
shopping. Seems like every year the holiday creeps up on me faster
and faster.
We all enjoyed a nice round of rain last weekend. We got right
about .90 hundredths at our place for the whole weekend while Les
and Betty Sans got right about .80 hundredths. We had one really
good downpour on Sunday afternoon that brought Tracie Eggleston
over half an inch in a little more than an hour. The next few days
were nice and warm so the grass really perked up.

Birthday wishes go out to Tamra Barrington who celebrated the big 4-0 last Saturday. Several friends and family members got together to help Tamra celebrate at Pozzi’s in King City after the Christmas parade on Friday night.

Dean and Nikki Bell branded their calves last Sunday at their place. They had the branding all lined up but decided late Saturday afternoon to cancel the following day due to the wet weather forecast. But when they awoke to sunny skies they decided to go ahead and brand anyway. It was a small crew, consisting of the kids, Dawson and Lila, Bailee Nelson, Brody Sans and Cash Robinson. Wyatt and Lacy Bourdet and Brendon Clark helped out on the ground. After the branding, Brendon took the boys for the afternoon to get on some steers. The Bell’s got their calves done right before the big rain came in and luckily the boys were able to get on steers underneath a covered arena during the rain.

Stan and Jamii Pura hosted their annual Christmas Tree Cutting party last Saturday at their home. We got our tree from our favorite spot, Bourdet’s Christmas Tree Farm, before stopping in at Stan and Jamii’s for a quick visit. Jamii has her home decorated so beautifully for the holidays.

Congratulations to my favorite football player, Buddy Sans, for being name Defensive Player of the Year last Tuesday night at the King City High School Football banquet. It was a great surprise to us that he won that award as we didn’t realize what an outstanding year he had on defense. One of his biggest accomplishments was that the net gain on his side of the field from opposing teams was negative 50 yards for the entire year! He either created huge plays for big losses, forced fumbles or made interceptions. Combine that with his 797 offensive yards and 12 offensive touchdowns and I’d say he had a pretty darn good year. Congratulations Buddy. Mom’s so proud of you!
