Brandings continue in South County
Well, that big storm the weather forecasters have been talking
about still has yet to arrive. Sometimes when they talk something
up so much, we’re all disappointed in the end. Keep your fingers
crossed that it still heads our way, as we are in need of a good
soaker down here in South County.

Birthday wishes go out to Betty Sans who celebrated her birthday last weekend. The 19th Hole in Tres Pinos is always a good place to celebrate one’s birthday!
Get well wishes go out to all those who are down with that nasty bug that seems to be going around. Nicki Bell was down with a pneumonia last week, then Dean ended up getting really sick, too. Seems everyone I talk to is down and out these days with either the flu, bronchitis or pneumonia. I got my annual flu shot so I’ve been pretty lucky so far this year.
Seems some of Nicki’s family is reading this column all the way over in the Netherlands! Somehow or another they came across this column on the Internet and they knew that Nicki had Chinese food on her birthday last week. Amazing how the Internet works.
John and Kyla Rianda branded some of their calves last weekend at the Rock Springs Ranch. Some of those helping out included the Sans Family, Dawson and Lila Bell, Wyatt and Lacy Bourdet, Sam Swan and Robert Silva. Brody is back on horseback so he even got to rope a few calves; it was sure nice to see him horseback again.
Many South County kids participated in the multidistrict high school rodeo last weekend in King City. Some of those participating included Wyatt Naccarato, Tommy and Megan Ford, Cash Robinson, Kristy Melton, Blain and Blair Strohn, Cheyenne Rey, Sierra and Brody Sans, Mikael Bernadette Enz, Courtney Bowers, Wacey Barrington and Taylor and Tywster Hurley, just to name a few. Congratulations to all those who qualified for the Challenge of Champions in Plymouth at the end of March. Some of those traveling to Plymouth included Cheyenne Rey, Blain and Blair Strohn and Cash Robinson. Good luck, guys!
Tamra Barrington hosted the monthly hot lunch at Bitterwater School on Valentine’s Day. Besides lunch, there was also a Valentine’s Day Bake Sale and Valentine’s Day party. I had the afternoon bus run that day and I could sure tell the kids had lots of sugar that day! Hope you all remembered your Valentine and had a nice day as well.
Have a great week and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at
