Broncos disappoint South County fans
Well, what can I say? My Broncos stunk last Sunday. No Mistake
Jake made plenty of mistakes on Sunday and the awesome steel
curtain just plain shut us down. Oh well, all I can say is,
congratulations to all the Steeler fans and I guess, go Steelers!
If it couldn’t be the Broncos in the Superbowl, I’m glad its the
Steelers. They were definitely due for a Superbowl appearance and I
like Jerome Bettis and Bill Cowher. Hopefully they’ll play as good
as they did against us and win the big one, they deserve it. Thanks
to all my friends for not calling me after the game, I wouldn’t
have answered the phone if you did anyway!
Looks like it’s going to be a Seattle vs. Pittsburgh Superbowl.
The Carolina Panthers played as bad as we did in the NFC
Championship game. I thought both of those games would be better
then they were, I guess they were great games if you were a Steeler
or a Seahawks fan!

There were plenty of birthdays last week in South County. Birthday wishes go out to Todd Sans Jr who celebrated on the 18th, Sami Jo Johnsen who celebrated on the 20th and Cole McFarland who celebrated on the 23rd.
Holly Casey hosted a birthday luncheon for Sami Jo at her her beautiful new home last Thursday afternoon. Anyone who knows Holly knows how talented she is so her beautiful home should be no surprise to anyone. Holly and Bill did a lot of the work on their house themselves, she even hand painted their retaining wall in a beautiful southwest design.
Those enjoying a day of sewing and a delicious lunch included: Peggy Casey, Julie Conatser, Karen Benedix, Mary Beth Kerns, Cynnie O’Connor, Kasey Hurley, Sami Jo Johnsen and myself.
Many South County residents headed North to Red Bluff last weekend for the annual Red Bluff Ranch Rodeo. Participating from South County included Hec Hurley, John Nino, Wyatt Bourdett and John Rianda. None of our South County teams made the short round, but they all had a great time anyway. Congratulations to Wyatt Bourdett on winning the Ranch Horse class with his good-looking palomino, then, on having his horse win the overall Top Ranch Horse award. Some of those going to watch the action included Vern and Jo Ann Scattini, Lee Whitney, Matt Cauley, Sandy Silva, Kasey Hurley and Nessen Schmidt and Val Bassetti.
George Palmer is on the mend after a triple bypass last week. He weathered the surgery fine, but gave Donna a scare the day after surgery. But, he’s out of ICU now and on the mend. Knowing that Donna and George are also big Bronco fans, I just hope George didn’t watch that horrific loss last Sunday, that surely wouldn’t have helped him feel any better!
Condolences go out to my Dad on the loss of his 90-year-old father last week. My folks headed out to Wisconsin last week for the services. My grandpa lived a good, 90-year life, and was so full of life that he danced with every lady present at his 90th birthday party last summer.
The Bitterwater Lady Badgers have a basketball game on Thursday against the San Lorenzo Colts. The game will be held at the Expo building in King City. I’m not sure on the time so if you want to catch the action, be sure to contact the school for more information.
Hope you all have a great week, and, if you have any news you’d like to share, be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at we********@ao*.com.
