Here’s to a soggy Thanksgiving holiday
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I hope you all have a safe and
wonderful holiday with your family and friends. Let’s hope we’re
all thankful for a really wet Thanksgiving!
I just can’t seem to get into the Thanksgiving or holiday spirit
these days. This is usually my favorite time of year, fall,
football and the holidays. But, it’s usually cold outside and that
helps create the mood. Hopefully this week’s weather turns around
or I’m going to be way behind on my Christmas shopping. I’m usually
half way done by now and this year I haven’t even started.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday with your family and friends. Let’s hope we’re all thankful for a really wet Thanksgiving!

I just can’t seem to get into the Thanksgiving or holiday spirit these days. This is usually my favorite time of year, fall, football and the holidays. But, it’s usually cold outside and that helps create the mood. Hopefully this week’s weather turns around or I’m going to be way behind on my Christmas shopping. We may head over to Bourdet’s Christmas Tree Farm this weekend to get our tree. I know that will definitely get me in the spirit. Bourdet’s opens the day after Thanksgiving so be sure to head over to check out their new narrated hay rides, petting zoo and huge assortment of trees. Santa will even be there on the weekends to talk to your little ones.

Birthday wishes go out to several folks who celebrated birthdays last week. Jessika Willoughby celebrated on the 17th, Rory Johnsen celebrated on the 23rd and Nathan Roth celebrated on the 24th.

Bitterwater Tully School will host its annual Thanksgiving Feast on Wednesday, Nov. 26. The meal will be served at 11 a.m. and all community members are invited. You can purchase last-minute tickets to win a free Christmas tree from Bourdet’s Tree Farm at the luncheon, or, place a See’s Candy order as well. The Christmas tree raffle will take place during lunch and the See’s Candy will be in around Dec. 13. The Bitterwater Tully School Christmas program will take place on Dec. 10 at Tully Hall so be sure to mark your calendars for that date now.

Ray Ann Houx from the Visiting Nurse Association came to the school last week to give a flu shot clinic to staff and community members. Some of those taking advantage of the clinic included Jeff and Jean Schmidt and Bill and Robin Rist. Thanks to Ray Ann for the convenience; we hope to make this an annual event.

The King City High girls’ basketball program is off to a great start. The girls played in a scrimmage against Alisal High School last weekend and both the JV and Varsity teams won handily. With all the financial turmoil at the high school these days, the girls are trying to do their part to help out by hosting a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning, Dec. 6. The breakfast will be held in the cafeteria at the high school and the meal includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, juice and coffee. Tickets can be purchased from any KCHS girls basketball player and the cost of the tickets are $6 each. Be sure to mark your calendars for that date as it promises to be a great meal.

Tryouts for the King City Volleyball Club traveling team were held last Saturday in King City. Congratulations to Kassie O’Connor and Rachel Diaz, two Bitterwater Tully students, for making the team.
