Busy days in South County
Things are sure busy these days in South County. Seems like once
it’s fair time, the minutes just keep on flying by! There are
plenty of things going on in South County to keep everybody busy
these days.
The annual Selleck barbecue took place last Saturday at the
Selleck Ranch in Biiterwater. We are invited every year and I have
yet to be able to make it. Baseball season rules the roost in my
world these days, and once again we spent the day at baseball games
instead of the Selleck barbecue! Todd was able to make an
appearance at the barbecue for once though. Some of those he
visited with were Laurence Hansen, George and Sandy Rose and Johnny
Joe and Darlene Maggini. There were many people in attendance and a
delicious meal was served to all. One of these days I hope to make
it!

Congratulations to the King City High School Frosh/Soph boys and girls track teams, as they were both crowned MTAL champs Friday at the high school. As expected, freshman Brooke Tavernetti won the 100 and 300 meter hurdles and the Hearne boys, Dustin and Jacob, placed first and second in the pole vault. Mandy Muzylowski won the shot put while Sierra Sans, Erika Williams, Evan Petrovich and Troy Akers, just to name a few, all placed in their events as well. Good luck to the varsity teams, who will travel to Salinas today for their league championships.

Bitterwater-Tully School students participated in the Chalone Peaks Middle School track meet last Thursday at King City High School. Those participating included: Taylor Jo Hurley, Jeanine Madson, Alex Castro, Rachel Diaz, Wacey Barrington, Thomas Veysey, Jensen McFarland, Logan and Louden Brimmage and Brody and Todd Sans, Jr. The kids will participate today at a meet in Gonzales, then again Monday at the Small Schools Track Meet at King City High School. Go Badgers!

The Bitterwater-Tully School Spring Concert was held last night at the school. The evening included singing, a potluck dinner and a dessert auction fundraiser. The desserts were made by the seventh and eighth grade students and were auctioned off in order to help raise funds for the eighth grade field trip. Both classrooms raffled off a theme-filled basket full of goodies as well.
