Easter brings together family and friends
I hope you all had a great Easter holiday. It was a wet, rainy
day, but one we enjoyed for sure! The rain arrived late on Sunday
so it didn’t put a damper on any of the many Easter celebrations
that took place over the weekend.
Ruth Records and Roberta Oswald held a big celebration at their
place over the weekend. They were expecting more than 60 relatives
and friends for the weekend.

Donna Hansen and Jean and Shari Schmidt hosted the Schmidt Easter Picnic last Saturday at Tully Hall. There were more than 85 friends and family members on hand for that celebration. Of course there was an Easter egg hunt for the kids, and one of Donna’s granddaughter’s was the lucky one who found the golden egg. Other than it being really cold, it was a big celebration with lots of family, food and fun.
After the Easter barbecue, we headed into town for a Mexican Bull Riding event that was held at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds. The event was a big deal in King City as it was being filmed by a Hollywood production crew and will be aired on national TV on Direct TV. Some of those competing from our area included Colton Lyons, Dustin Thompson, Kenneth Rustoni and Brody Sans while Twyster Hurley and Billy Aviles, Jr. were on hand to help out in the mutton busting. Each of the bullriders got interviewed for the TV show after their rides. It was a great experience for Brody and it was quite entertaining, although we would have enjoyed it much better if we could speak Spanish! We didn’t understand one word of the whole performance except for the names! I’m not sure when the show will air, but I will write about the date and time once I find out.
A big congratulations goes out to new parents Wyatt and Lacy Bourdet on the birth of their beautiful baby girl, Braydee Gina Bourdet, who arrived April 3. Braydee arrived weighing 7 pounds and was 20 inches long. We’ve only seen pictures of her so far but she looks absolutely beautiful. Both Lacy and Braydee are home and doing well. Congratulations, guys. Welcome to the wonderful world of parenting!
