Another rodeo success in South County
It was another nice week in South County last week; the weather
was wet for a few days, then, it dried up and warmed up nicely for
a few days as well. What more could a person ask for?
Several South County kids headed to Clovis last weekend for a
multi-district high school rodeo. Congratulations to Blane Strohn
and his partner, Thomas Hoskins, for winning the team roping there.
There were lots of tough teams so that is quite an accomplishment.
Way to go boys!

Several South County kids headed to Clovis last weekend for a multi-district high school rodeo. Congratulations to Blane Strohn and his partner, Thomas Hoskins, for winning the team roping there. There were lots of tough teams so that is quite an accomplishment. Way to go boys!

Kasey Hurley and Candace Brewen will be hosting the monthly hot lunch this Friday at Bitterwater Tully School. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

The Salinas Valley Fair is right around the corner and preparations are already under way. The Junior Fair Board will be hosting their annual Pedro Party this Friday night at the Orradre Building at the fairgrounds. The event begins at 7 p.m. On Saturday, the Salinas Valley Fair Hostess Contest will take place in the pavillion. Four girls will be competing for this year’s title.

Don’t forget about the Tommy Cash concert this Saturday evening at Bolado Park in Tres Pinos. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tommy does a special tribute to his brother Johnny Cash so it should be a great show.

Daylights savings time begins this weekend so don’t forget to move your clocks ahead on Saturday night. The days will be longer, but the mornings will be darker. I don’t really know what the point is. I wish we just left the time alone.
