There’s wild, wild weather in the south county
I guess I can officially say Happy Spring everyone, but the way
the weather was last week, it seems like we completely skipped
spring and went right into summer. It was downright hot out here
last week. We were up in the 90s a few days. If we don’t get some
rain this week, the grass will be pretty much done out this
way.

I guess I can officially say Happy Spring everyone, but the way the weather was last week, it seems like we completely skipped spring and went right into summer. It was downright hot out here last week. We were up in the 90s a few days. If we don’t get some rain this week, the grass will be pretty much done out this way.

Congratulations go out to Sami O’Connor who made the President’s Honor Roll for the fall semester at Hartnell College. Sami and her Mom Cynnie spent last Saturday in Fresno where Sami participated in a softball tournament for Hartnell. They had a good tournament, winning all three games.

Congratulations also go out to Bitterwater Tully seventh graders Edwin Mendoza, Marissa Donovan and Jeanine Madson. All three of them passed the preliminary round of the County Wide Spelling Bee and will compete in the Championship Round on Wednesday in Hollister. Good luck Badgers!

Condolences go out to the family and friends of Ysidoro Mendoza who passed away last week. Services were held last Friday in King City followed by a reception at Ysidoro’s home.  Many friends and family were in attendance.

Birthday wishes go out to Les Sans, Nessen Schmidt and Evan Petrovich who all celebrated birthdays last week. Belated birthday wishes go out to Marianne Madson who celebrated on the 7th.

The King City Little League held its opening day ceremonies last Saturday in King City. It was an all-day event. Our boys played in the last game of the day, just about the time the good old King City wind came blowing in. It was absolutely freezing! It was darn near 100 degrees the day before and we just about froze the next night. Other than the cold, the day turned out well. Playing in their first Little League game ever from Bitterwater included Callen WIlliams and Nathan Johnson. Also playing from Bitterwater was Cole McFarland.

Have a great week everyone, and, if you have any news you’d like to share, be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at [email protected].
