Halloween fun set for Bitterwater Tully
Well, South County, looks like it’s about time to start doing
our annual rain dances. Wouldn’t you know it, we started off with
such a great rain a few weeks ago and now it looks like there’s
nothing in sight. It’s so pretty right now too with all the green
grass coming up. One of my farmer friends told me there was nothing
in sight until at least Nov. 6. Keep your fingers crossed and your
rain dances going. We need some more rain soon!

Look out for all those ghosts and goblins that will be out and about this weekend as Halloween is on Saturday. Bitterwater Tully School students will be enjoying their annual Halloween party on Friday evening at Tully Hall. The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a potluck dinner, followed by games, a pumpkin-carving contest and a costume contest. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

Jefferson School students will be traveling to Bitterwater Tully School again on Friday afternoon for another volleyball scrimmage. The games begin at 1 p.m. Be sure to stop by and root on your local athletes.

The Bitterwater Lady Badgers finished up their volleyball season last Saturday at the Main Street Middle School Volleyball tournament in Soledad. The girls drew up in a tough bracket but they held their own and played tough against the bigger schools. Congratulations to Taylor Hurley and Kassie O’Connor for being named the team’s MVPs.

Good luck to Cash Robinson who is participating in the junior bull-riding championships in Las Vegas this weekend. The event is being held in conjunction with the PBR Finals. Cash has been practicing hard to get ready for this weekend. Lots of Hollister folks are heading to Vegas to cheer him on.

Don’t forget to set your clocks back this weekend as daylight savings time begins on Saturday night. Have a safe Halloween weekend and be sure to give me a call or e-mail me at [email protected] with any news you’d like to share.
