A sexual offender wanted on suspicion of committing lewd and
lascivious acts with a minor under age 14 has been arrested in
Porterville, according to the Hollister Police Department.
San Benito County’s Jason R. Ayala, 37, was arrested Friday at a
family member’s home in Porterville where he had been staying.
Police had issued a warrant Aug. 18 for the Hollister man’s arrest
on the charges alleging lewd acts with the girl.

Police first responded to the report Aug. 9. The juvenile reported Ayala assaulted her that day and on a previous occasion.
Ayala, listed on the Megan’s Law website, is in custody at the San Benito County Jail with bail set at $100,000.
