Terry was born in Sandstone, MN. He is survived by is brother Gary, son Adam and loving wife of 41 years Rhonda.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and sister.
Terry spent most of his youth in California graduating from Grant Union High School. He met and married the love of his life while graduating from CSU Sacramento.
Terry and Rhonda moved several times in the Santa Cruz area, finally settling in Hollister. He was very involved in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed the fellowship of the local chapter of SIRS (sons in retirement).
He had a passion for teaching and sharing stories. Terry’s proudest educational achievement was presenting a paper at the Oxford University Round Table in England during 2006.
The Pfennings were avid travelers spending many vacations in Europe, camping the National Parks and road trips along the coast. They toured much of the United States in their RV visiting friends and were in Minnesota with Terry’s relatives when he passed away September 12th, 2014.
