Want more power and distance? Turn those shoulders.

The bigger the shoulder turn on the backswing, the faster the clubhead speed and the better the chance the club will travel onthe correct line to the target.

Unfortunately, as we get older, the shoulder turn seems to reach its maximum a lot sooner. This can be corrected, however, with some stretching exercises. The more flexible we can be, the easier it is to hit a golf ball.

A lot of bad swings come from just trying to pick the club up and hit with the hands and not making a full of a turn as possible.

For more information on shoulder turning, see your local PGA or LPGA golf professional.
