A Hollister man and a Morgan Hill woman were arrested Thursday afternoon when the man tried to cash a forged check at the Check N Cash in Morgan Hill, according to Morgan Hill police Cmdr. David Swing.

Bobby Wells, 38, was arrested for alleged burglary and forgery. Debra Davenport, 39, was on probation for passing fake checks, and she was arrested for alleged forgery, impersonation, conspiracy and probation violation.

Both were booked into Santa Clara County Jail.

Swing said Wells went into the business and tried to cash a forged check for $692. An employee called the police, and when officers arrived, Wells was still in the store and was arrested without incident.

Davenport was outside the store, Swing said, sitting in a truck. She had a laptop, and in the laptop were fake checks. On the laptop was information about making false identification. She was also arrested without incident.
