There will be two candidate forums for the public to attend in the next few days.

The Aromas Candidates Forum will feature Supervisor Anthony Botelho and challenger Anthony Freitas running for the District 2 seat. There will be a presentation on the $18 million bond issuance proposal for the Aromas School District, and there will be a speaker against the bond and another in favor of it. It’s set for 4 p.m. Sunday at Grange Hall.

The forum at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hollister City Hall will feature all candidates who are running for the board of supervisors races. Republican candidate Jeff Taylor, running for the 17th Congressional District, is scheduled to be a speaker at the event.

Aromas-San Juan Unified School District Superintendent Jackie Munoz also is scheduled to be there.

The San Benito County Farm Bureau puts on the event. Farm Bureau Manager Mindy Sotelo said that the forum is being held early this year because they are predicating a lot of absentee ballots for this election. Absentee ballots are being mailed out at the end of the week, she said.
