Volunteers spruce up downtown

Volunteers for the annual Spring Cleanup sponsored by the Downtown Business Association brought brooms, dustpans, garden gloves and shovels to help get San Benito Street and cross streets in tip-top shape. Volunteers of all ages, including local Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts, beautified the downtown area by pulling weeds, planting, scrubbing and painting. Students gained community service-hours credit for the three-hour event on April 20.
