Volunteers help prepare the annual Holte Thanksgiving Dinner at the Sacred Heart School.

The Marley Holte Holiday Dinners organization will put on its
second of two annual gatherings on Christmas and the group is once
again searching for volunteers for the event.
The Marley Holte Holiday Dinners organization will put on its second of two annual gatherings on Christmas and the group wants to remind residents it needs volunteers for the event.

Volunteer organizer Larry Brown noted how the Thanksgiving dinner at Sacred Heart’s gym was a success, and that the dinner is set for Christmas again at the same location. For the Christmas meal, the organization generally attracts more guests than the Thanksgiving meal – and fewer volunteers, Brown said.

Volunteer work for the Christmas dinner includes such activities as preparations on Christmas Eve, also at the gym in the kitchen, or cooking and serving. The dinner itself is held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at O’Reilly Youth Hall at Sacred Heart School on College Street.
