Certain proponents of Measure G cry, moan and complain that big out-of-town developers are behind the opposition to this stealing of the land owner’s rights initiative!
Unfortunately, these deceitful tactics can influence unfamiliar citizens. That is what they are trying to do – manipulate and deceive the voters. The proven truth is that the majority of financial supporters behind Measure G are out-of-towners. Examples are P.L.A.N. of Atherton at $12,000; Sierra Club Ballot Measure Contribution Committee of Sacramento at $2,500; Lynn Seppala of Livermore at $20,000; Robert Baltzer of Livermore at $1,000; Judith O’Brien of Menlo Park at $1,000; Dianna Hanna of Castro Valley at $700 and another $200 using a different address; Mariquita West of Los Gatos at $1,000; and Mrs. Schreck of Portola Valley at $250.
Then we have the San Benito county employee who is the Administrator of the County Integrated Waste Management office; also the reported past political campaign manager of Supervisor Pat Loe; and also the reported chairperson of the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club (remember Becky McGovern’s free legal team that made an effort to stop our right to vote was affiliated with the Sierra Club.)
In addition, this employee, Normandy Rose, is reported to be a very close confidant of “Boss Hog,” and has herself given $20,000. Over $90,000 amassed by those who favor Measure G without even the courtesy to use local businesses. That’s right, they used out-of-town vendors!
In the political process of this country, we thankfully have the freedom to express our opinions and rights even when it takes court action to maintain our basic voting rights.
Thank you Farm Bureau, Hollister Downtown Association, Winegrower’s Association, Cattlemen’s Association, Mexican American Political Association, County Business Council, County Chamber of Commerce, Supervisor candidates Don Marcus, Marci Huston, Anthony Botelho, Anthony Freitas, Jamie De La Cruz and all of the many opponents to Measure G.
To all voters: Please do not forget the efforts of the proclaimed “Fab Four” supervisors – Scagliotti, No. 1 Cruz, Kesler and Loe who tried to deny you your right to vote! Show these supervisors and all of your fellow citizens that you hold sacred the American right to vote! Vote NO on Measure G and vote against the incumbents!
