The strange weather ripping through San Benito County won’t be around much longer and hasn’t done any damage to surrounding areas – yet.

The thunder and lightening show Monday night didn’t result in any calls to the Hollister Fire Department, however with high humidity or precipitation, there’s always a chance something could come up, said Mike Sgro of the fire department.

“There’s still a chance that something’s smoldering that hasn’t popped up yet,” Sgro said.

Around midnight Monday night there was a small power outage, but it wasn’t anything major, said Public Works Director Clint Quilter.

“A power bump caused some aerators to go down for about a half an hour,” he said.

The upcoming week will see light fog and clouds, however the Labor Day Weekend with be mostly clear for everyone planning on spending some relaxing time outside for the last official weekend of summer.
