A San Martin woman was arrested this weekend after a fight at a bar turned into a scuffle with police, according to Morgan Hill police Cmdr. David Swing. The fight might have started after the woman saw he boyfriend looking at another woman, police said.

Coleen Parker, 24, was booked into Santa Clara County Jail for spousal abuse, battery causing serious injury, two counts of vandalism, resisting arrest, battery and battery on a custodial officer.

On Saturday night, Parker and her boyfriend were at the La Fiesta bar on Monterey Road in north Morgan Hill. She had been drinking and was believed to be intoxicated, Swing said. Officers were called to the bar by the owner after Parker allegedly got in a fight with her boyfriend and broke a window at the business. Bar staff tried to restrain her, and she allegedly bit a woman on the arm and hit someone else in the abdomen.

When officers arrived, she began fighting them, Swing said, and as they tried to put her in the back of the patrol car, she began kicking out, damaging the door. To transport her to county jail in San Jose, she was placed in a protective wrap because she continued to try to fight officers. In the process, one of the officers was scratched by Parker but was not seriously injured, police said.
