Hollister's Martin Navarro knocks the ball away from Gilroy's Jonathan Diaz de leon but draws a foul on play Thursday.

Less than a week after avoiding a defeat to Gilroy for the first time in four years, the boys soccer team used that momentum to shut out Palma 2-0.
The Balers took the lead in the game’s first minute on a goal by Martin Navarro. The rest of the half went scoreless for both teams.
In the opening minute of the second half, the Balers added their second goal off the foot of Luis Fausto.
San Benito keeper Manuel Garcia saved four shots during the game.
The victory gives the Balers a 2-1-1 record in the Tri-County Athletic League play and a 3-4-4 record overall.
San Benito hosts Alisal at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
