A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Friday afternoon nine miles from Tres Pinos, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor occurred at 5:42 p.m. Pacific Standard Time at a depth of 2.5 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 12 miles from Pinnacles, 14 miles from Gonzales, 15 miles from Hollister and 58 miles from San Jose City Hall.
In the last 10 days prior to Friday, there were no earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
