Hollister police Tuesday arrested four female suspects alleged to have possessed laptops and other stolen items taken from a home burglary, according to the Hollister Police Department.

At about 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Valley View Road. According to police, citizens saw several females transferring computers and other items from one vehicle to another.

Officer Steven Vining arrived and found Vanessa Garcia, 20; Erika Barrios, 18; Liza Gonzales, 18; and a fourth juvenile female. Garcia ran away on foot, but he identified her from prior contact.

“None of the remaining females claimed possession of the property. The recovered items were taken for safe keeping pending further investigation,” according to police.

Later the same day, a citizen called police to report a residential burglary in the 1500 Block of Highland Drive. Officer Matt Weiss connected the burglary to the property found on the four suspects, according to police.

Garcia, Barrios and Gonzalez were booked at the San Benito County Jail suspected of possession of stolen property. Garcia also had a warrant for her arrest for suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia. The juvenile suspect was booked at the San Benito County Juvenile Hall suspected of possessing stolen property.

The police department noted it wanted to thank the resident who reported the suspicious activity.
