Hollister Police officers responded to a report of a suspicious subject at Hillcrest Mini Storage, on Industrial Drive Aug. 22. Police arrested David Arenas, 30, on charges of possession of a sawed-off Shotgun and other drug charges.
At about 2 p.m., Hollister Police Officers responded to Hillcrest Mini Storage on a report that a man had been spending a lot of time inside a storage locker. The man refused to come out and there was a “chemical odor” coming from the same unit.
When the police arrived, a man exited the storage units. He was identified as the same person that had refused to exit the storage unit. The man, later identified as Arenas, was holding a baseball sports bag in his hands. Officers allege Arenas was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia, an illegal knife and a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun and ammunition in the sport bag he was holding.
Arenas was booked into the San Benito County Jail for possession of an illegal firearm, possession of an illegal switchblade knife and possession of illegal drug paraphernalia.
