Here are some things to do in San Benito County this weekend.

1.) Pinnacles monument to host speakers series: Pinnacles National Monument will host a speakers series in August, starting with Interpretation Ranger Jennifer Updyke’s talk on how Pinnacles National Monument has been valued by its inhabitants. The talk is Aug. 4 at 2 p.m., at the Soledad Library, 401 Gabilan Drive, Soledad, CA 93960. Additional events will be held Aug. 11, 18 and 25. Details: (831) 389-4486

2.) Hollister Relay For Life: The Hollister Relay For Life is Aug. 4 and 5, starting Saturday at 11 a.m., with more than 48 teams participating in the annual event that raises money for the American Cancer Society. The event will be held at the Andy Hardin Stadium at San Benito High School, with the opening ceremonies starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a survivor’s lap. This year’s teams will decorate their booths with game show and board games theme, offering a “Fight Back” tip to visitors on how to prevent cancer as they raise money for ACS. A survivor’s lunch reception is scheduled for Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and a Luminaria ceremony will be held Saturday at 9 p.m. For details:

3.) Free recital concert at Mars Hill: The Hollister School of Rock is hosting a recital at Mars Hill Coffee House, 610 San Benito St., in Hollister, Aug. 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

4.) Living History Days: Relive the early pioneer days during the Living History celebration the first Saturday of each month in San Juan Bautista sponsored by Plaza History Association (831) 623-4526.

5.) Scholarship fundraiser: The San Benito High School Class of 1971 Scholarship will hold its annual Barbecue and Silent Auction Fundraiser on Aug. 4, from noon to 4 p.m., at Ridgemark Park in Hollister. The cost for the barbecue lunch is $25 per person.
